How should I prepare my dog for a workout?
Please consult your veterinarian before your pup begins an exercise program to ensure they have no health concerns.
We will text or call you when we are on our way. Do not feed your dog(s) for at least two hours before they are going to work out and let them go potty right after we contact you.
What can I expect post-workout?
A tired pooch! We do recommend that you not feed them or let them drink an excessive amount of water right after their workout.
What are the requirements?
Again, we ask that you clear physical activity with your veterinarian. Your dog needs to be at least 6 months old and be up to date on all vaccinations. We can accommodate anywhere from 5– 95 lbs at this time. Please let us know your dog’s needs and we will do our best to accommodate them.

What in the world is a slatmill?
A slatmill is a non-motorized treadmill made specifically for dogs and is powered by their paws alone. We have invested in the best slatmills on the market to ensure safety and a smooth walk/run.
How long does it take a dog to learn to use the slatmill?
For most dogs, the learning curve is about 5 - 10 minutes. We will be training them to balance and walk on the slatmill. After they learn that the movement will not hurt them, their confidence grows, and they start to walk/run on their own. Our runs are fully supervised for safety.
Our coach watches their movements and makes sure it is a safe and positive experience. Every dog is different, so it may take a couple sessions to get them completely comfortable.
Eventually, almost every dog will gain confidence and run or walk at a good pace.
-
What can I expect during the workout?
Safety and positivity! As Fear Free Certified professionals, we work hard to give your dog the best experience possible. We want them to be excited about their workouts! We will supervise their movements and encourage them to move the slatmill on their own throughout the session. We are great cheerleaders!
We will stop your dog at regular intervals to offer water or just to give them a little break.
Remember that our slatmills have no motors, and your dog does all the work. Nothing is forced. We are there the whole time to ensure a safe and fun run while providing plenty of positive reinforcement.
For the first three sessions we recommend you supply us with some of your dog’s favorite treats and their favorite toy to provide some extra inspiration. We are not above bribing your dog to get them comfortable!
How long are the workout sessions?
The initial session is 45 minutes to allow your dog to acclimate to the slamill. Each recurring session is a customized 30-minute run/walk.
Can more than one dog workout at the same time?
Yes, we can accommodate two dogs at the same time once they are both acclimated to the machines. They should be from the same household or already friends that often spend time together.
Where do the workouts take place?
We will drive to your home in our climate-controlled van and the workouts will take place inside the van.
-
How often should I book workouts?
Initially, we recommend once a week at the same time of day. You know your dog best, so we suggest you observe how they react to regular exercise and then book accordingly.
Do I need to be home?
It would be great if you or someone your dog trusts could accompany them until they are acclimated to the slatmill. Your dog will feel less stressed if you are there to cheer them on. Once they get to know us and they are comfortable you are free to leave them in our care.
How is payment handled?
We accept cash, checks, Venmo and credit card payments. Payment is expected at the time of service.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask that you provide 24-hour notice if you need to cancel the workout. If you cancel within this window, you will not incur the $25.00 cancellation fee.
